The CNS includes the brain and spinal cord, while the PNS includes nerves and ganglia outside the CNS. The somatic nervous system controls voluntary actions; the autonomic nervous system controls involuntary functions. EurekAlert!: A working model of IFNγ-STAT1 signaling promoting axon regeneration in CNS and PNS. (IMAGE) In CNS, such as retinal ganglion cells, IFNγ activates STAT1 in Ptpn2 cKO RGCs. STAT1 then upregulates neuronal cGAS expression. cGAS produces cGAMP and activate STING in neurons. In PNS, such as ... A working model of IFNγ-STAT1 signaling promoting axon regeneration in CNS and PNS. (IMAGE) The peripheral nervous system (PNS) is critical for connecting the central nervous system (CNS) to the rest of the body. It is essential for bodily functions such as movement, sensation, and autonomic processes. For related background details, please refer to our report on wiring a fan light switch. Sky blue is PNS; yellow is CNS. The peripheral nervous system (PNS) is one of two components that make up the nervous system of bilateral animals, with the other part being the central nervous system (CNS). The PNS consists of nerves and ganglia, which lie outside the brain and the spinal cord. [1] . The Peripheral Nervous System (PNS) consists of all the cranial and spinal nerves that branch off from the CNS to the rest of the body. Its primary function is to serve as a communication relay, sending sensory data toward the CNS and carrying motor commands away from it to the muscles and glands. In this article, we’ll discuss the peripheral nervous system and its divisions, as well as the peripheral nerves. The peripheral nervous system (PNS) consists of all the nerves branching out of the brain and spinal cord (the central nervous system, CNS).
