Labelled Diagram Of Golgi Apparatus — Labelled Diagram Of Golgi Apparatus

The Golgi apparatus is an organelle of eukaryotic cells that is responsible for transporting, modifying, and packaging proteins and lipids. It is made up of a series of flattened, stacked pouches called cisternae and is located in the cytoplasm near the cell nucleus. What Is the Golgi Apparatus? The Golgi apparatus is a cellular organelle consisting of stacked membrane-bound sacs known as cisternae (singular: cisterna) or dictyosomes. It serves as the central hub for processing and distributing molecules like proteins and lipids. This page discusses the Golgi apparatus, which is essential for protein processing and localization in cells. Its structure features flattened sacs called cisternae and varies among different … A Golgi body, also known as a Golgi apparatus, is a cell organelle that helps process and package proteins and lipid molecules, especially proteins destined to be exported from the cell. Named after its discoverer, Camillo Golgi, the Golgi body appears as a series of stacked membranes. What is the Golgi apparatus? The Golgi apparatus, also known as the Golgi body or Golgi complex, is a type of organelle (i.e., a structure located in the cell) that processes and packages proteins and lipid molecules (i.e., fat molecules). For related background details, please refer to our report on wiring a multiple light switch. The Golgi apparatus (also called the Golgi body or Golgi complex) is a membrane-bound structure inside nearly every cell in your body that processes, packages, and ships proteins and fats to where they need to go. The Golgi apparatus is no longer the mysterious “internal reticular apparatus” glimpsed by Camillo Golgi more than a century ago. It is a dynamic, multifunctional hub whose importance grows with every new discovery in cell biology, immunology, virology, and medicine.
